One of the simplest pleasures in life is being able to ride in a limo car. If you haven’t, do rent one before you pass away. If you can’t afford limo cars, book yourself in a 5-star hotel as most have a fleet of limousines to bring their guests to and from their airport or get around town. While limo cars for sale may be out of your league, take heart. There are car rental operators who can make one available for you at affordable rates.

Different Limo Cars

Limousines are the epitome of luxury for an automobile. Royalties, Presidents, dignitaries and aristocrats use them for both official and private commuting. You might want to distinguish a limo from stretched limo. The two are different in terms of size add heft. Limousines are essentially luxury sedans with a long wheelbase that come as part of the model line-up of a brand. BMW has its 7-series limousines that come in two versions – a regular and a stretched wheelbase. Same goes with the Maybach of Mercedes Benz which has the regular 57S and a stretched 62S. The Rolls-Royce Phantom comes in only one wheelbase length.

Stretched limos, on the other hand, are custom-built cars modified from existing sedans which are often Cadillacs and Benzes cut in half just behind the driver compartment and a middle section inserted. It’s the middle section that can be customized to whatever length you want with the transmission axle likewise modified and strengthened.

Either type of limos can have all the luxurious amenities specifically fitted in the passenger cabins. Fold-away LCD-TVs that are ceiling mounted are common. Center-console laptop PCs can also be fitted in. A compact chiller to house wines and glasses are often standard. And because of the generous legroom, most have reclining back seats with deployable footrests that can nearly convert a back seat to a bed. By the way, limos are better off chauffeur-driven so you can enjoy its sybaritic splendors where they are located – at the back.

Limousines for Sale or Rent

Limos are certainly not for everyone. It’s one huge car that may not fit in a regular garage. It’s also a gas-guzzler at its worst. 12-cylinder engines are quite common among limos. You need that much power to carry its heft and all the weight-consuming appointments and amenities inside.
But for sure, there’s no shortage of limo cars for sale. All prestigious car makes have them and if cost is no object, you can get them from Lexus, Infinity, BMW, Bentley, Mercedes Benz and Rolls-Royce – leading brands selling limos at the top of their line-up. Otherwise, there are specialty car rental operators that can satisfy your curiosity on how it feels like riding in one.
